In May 2007 I was given the opportunity to adopt a 3-month-old pug with bowed front legs. The pet store was going to send him back to the breeder to be "dealt with." Whatever that meant, it didn't sound good, so I adopted him (after a little convincing) and hoped his medical bills wouldn't ruin my credit for life.
February 20th marks his second birthday with a spotless medical record. Incredibly, he seems to have simply outgrown the his wobbly bowlegs and can now run several miles nonstop! Which is more than I can do...
But now I've got a fever and the only perscription is more pug.
A combination of really wanting another pug, a desire to do something that mattered, and an addiction to Google led me to the Mid Atlantic Pug Rescue website where I decided to become a pug foster owner and take in homeless pugs in my area.
This blog records all the stories and glories of living with pugs.
